Spring into Brooklyn

Now that there is plenty of sun to bask in, Brooklyn is the place to be with two new exciting exhibitions. On-Verge will be featuring interviews and blurbs about the artists and curators.

My Spring Fling Turned Into My Summer Dream: a group exhibition of pairs

@ Splatterpool Artspace (138 Bayard Street Brooklyn NY). Curated by J. Morrison.

Opening Friday 29 April, 2011 at 8PM (Preview 6PM-8PM). Exhibition through Sunday 15 May, 2011. Gallery Hours are Saturday and Sunday 1PM-6PM and by appointment.

The opening will celebrate the first successful year of the Splatterpool artspace, and will include artists from both Splatterpool exhibitions and J. Morrison’s curatorial project, SPACE IS THE PLACE.  The exhibition plays off dualities of the seasons (Sexy Spring to Summer Fuck). Each artist was asked for two artworks that were not necessarily created as a couplet, but formed a statement when placed in juxtaposition.

Artists: Joel Adas, Juan Betancurth, Geoff Chadsey, TM Davy, Richard Haines, Erik Hanson, Brian Kenny, Slava Mogutin, J. Morrison, Cyrus Saint Amand Poliakoff, Nelson Santos, Paul Mpagi Sepuya and Grant Worth. Text by  Tommy Pico and Todd Shalom.

Opening Saturday 30 April, 2011 6PM-Midnight. Exhibition through 8 May, 2011. Gallery Hours are Sunday to Friday Noon – 8PM.
