“We made a photography magazine about Protest, but really we are making a document that pages between past and present. […] Its all happening. […] You should be here.”
– Emily Roysdon, Guest Curator of Capricious #12, The PROTEST Issue
When we originally decided upon the theme for this issue of Capricious, we had no idea that it would be so delayed, or that the moment for its actual release would be so right. Capricious #12, the PROTEST Issue, is being launched when our city and our community are in the midst of occupations, evictions, arrests, and continued protests.
We felt that this was reason enough to invite our community – of protesters, artists, transgressors – to come celebrate our own stories of past, present, and future rallies and remonstrances. Since 2004, this particular community has been the foundation of Capricious activities, assisting in, inspiring, and partaking in our mission to support emerging artists through our magazine and activities. So instead of using this December to celebrate Christmas and New Years, we want to take this opportunity to dedicate a special celebration to our community and to our collective protests.
PLEASE JOIN US TO CELEBRATE AND SUPPORT!
