Con Artist Member’s Group show, which only happens three times a year, will be showcasing 25+ artists from their team. The space supports designers (both graphic and textile-based) and a slew of multidisciplinary gems worth checking out.
Looking out for:
– Eric Triton‘s absorbent blackface portraits (Left)
–Hiroko Ishikawa caricatures that I would enjoy hiding around my apartment for people to discover. (Below)
–Justin Wood‘s 4D paintings, which merge ink and the artist’s hand with photography, projection, and chance. “How is technology enhancing our experience of reality,” asks Wood, “and in what ways is it destroying our primal humanity?” (Justin Wood, //structures of time, 2011)
–Laura Tack‘s contemporary prints (xeroxes, woodcuts) that sustain a tension between abstraction and the weight of texture, of the object. (Left)
