In early November Issey Miyake’s space in Tribeca launched a solo installation of new sculptures by Grimanesa Amorós. This combination of LED nodes, vinyl, diffusion material and light sequence speaks to a series of pre-Incan islands located off the coast of Peru where totora reeds served as the primary material for both structures and clothing. This exhibition will close on January 14, 2012.
Issey Miyake in Tribeca reaches beyond retail and serves as a laboratory and atelier where new talent and the unexpected fuse together in a series of exhibitions, lectures and performances. Location: 119 Hudson Street at North Moore.
